Duckine is a nod to a popular local Hawaiian expression ‘Da Kine’ and we combined our key ingredient, Duck! Expressing the culture and attitude, while hinting at the cuisine of a duck centric menu full of edge, unique flair, and lots of flavors.

Duckine is inspired by food and family. The restaurant previously in our location was a family owned Chinese restaurant and a local favorite. Wanting to keep the influence and create our unique restaurant, we drew inspiration from our guests, local community, and local ingredients. Focusing on food, family, and fusing local culture with Chinese cuisine, the menu crafted by the talented Executive Chef & Owner Alvin Savella is unique, inspired, and innovative.

Our team is composed of multicultural backgrounds with experience from a variety of different levels of hospitality that has influenced the atmosphere, style, cuisine, and cocktails. We aim to satisfy our community with a delectable option for dine-in or takeout. High quality ToGo food options is something our community needs. We want to bring something different to the table in order to create the memorable experience that we strive to give our guests, through aloha, through hospitality, and through food. We hope to create a memorable experience for the whole family.

Experimentation with techniques, flavors and presentation is happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. Executive Chef & Owner Alvin Savella’s style of cuisine has inspired his partners for years. With Savella stepping into his own kitchen, it gives him the opportunity to curate his own menu with no limitations. Through the Local Chinese Fusion Menu there is joy, excitement, and happiness going into every dish.

The cocktail creations, spearheaded by General Manager Rob Farrell, compliment Chef Alvin’s boundary pushing pallet. The bar program at Duckine is an elevated, creative craft cocktail experience with Chinese and local fusion. Cocktails inspired by Chinese apothecary ideals, using lots of teas and healing herbs combined with Tiki vibes from the islands, and surprised and delighted. The crafted cocktail menu will take people out of their comfort zone and explore a heightened culinary cocktail experience on Maui's Westside.
